About Us

At Ladybirds we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) when planning activities and learning experiences for your child. The EYFS relates to a child’s development between the ages of 0-60 months (end of reception year at primary school). It has 3 prime areas of learning which are vital to their overall development and 4 specific areas which help establish the foundations of their individual learning journey:

Prime Area’s
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSE)
  • Communication and Language (CL)
  • Physical Development (PD)
  • Specific Area’s
  • Literacy (L)
  • Understanding of the World (UW)
  • Mathematics (M)
  • Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)

  • From the outset your child will be assigned a keyworker who will work with them on a regular basis. The keyworker will be a reassuringly consistent point of contact for both you and your child. They will contribute to your child’s Learning Story and encourage you to do the same. Within the framework of the Learning Story your child’s activities and progress will be detailed, all the while linking to the EYFS. The keyworker will also highlight suggested developmental “next steps” that can be included in activities at home.
